Everybody stop what you’re doing because Raquel Leviss has finally spoken. And on Bethenny Frankel’s podcast, no less. Rachel, the SURver formerly known as Raquel, said that she learned a lot about her own “love addiction” during her stay at a mental health treatment facility and seemed to confirm that she would not, in fact, be returning to Vanderpump Rules to tell her side of the story in season 11.
It’s been several months since Scandoval broke, but while her castmates have been spilling all sorts of tea on their various podcasts, Watch What Happens Live appearances, and social media, we’ve heard almost nothing from the woman at the center of it all (aside from that one ill-advised TMZ interview) until now.
It’s worth noting that Frankel is a former Real Housewife and has been on something of a crusade against Bravo in general, making her a more sympathetic interviewer than, say, Andy Cohen might have been. Leviss said that the network has been “running to the bank” to capitalize on the scandal, while she hasn’t “seen a single penny.” She continued, “They always dangle that carrot in front of you, like, ‘Well, you need to tell your side of the story otherwise it’s gonna be written for you.’ And that’s terrifying. So I almost went back, I know just because of that.”
So, Leviss “almost went back” to Vanderpump Rules but seems to have decided against it in the end. According to the podcast episode title—“Reality Reckoning: Raquel Leviss (Part One)”—Raquel Leviss still has more to say, and she’ll be saying it to ReWives. Well, as far as reality TV allies go, she could do worse than Bethenny Frankel.
“Part of the reason why I wanted to take some time away is just because it was so chaotic and loud, and there was such vitriol online. But then the other part of the reason why I wanted to go to a treatment facility was to understand my behaviors,” Leviss told Frankel on the ReWives podcast in an August 16 interview. “It took me a while to accept, but I learned about love addiction, and it’s a real thing. It’s where you confuse intensity for intimacy…. So it is addictive, and it explains why I couldn’t stop seeing this person, but it also doesn’t excuse the fact that it happened.”
