After a clip of Megan Thee Stallion and Justin Timberlake having a seemingly contentious interaction at the VMAs went viral, the whole internet was prepared to ride at dawn in the rapper’s defense, which is as it should be. Fortunately, Meg has already posted to assure her loyal fans that this was in no way a Janet Jackson or a Britney Spears situation.

In a video tweeted by the account Buzzing Pop, Meg and Timberlake can be seen backstage, but whatever they are saying is inaudible. While fans on Twitter immediately speculated that there was some kind of fight happening, an eyewitness told Variety, “He said, ‘It’s so nice to meet you,’ and she said, ‘No, no this don’t count, this don’t count. We gotta meet proper.’”
