Luciana Barroso Took the Plunge in a Red-Hot Halter Dress

Luciana Barroso—furniture designer as well as Matt Damon’s wife of nearly two decades—really loves to wear red. The hue has become her style signature for special events like the second annual Albie Awards in New York City, where Barroso turned up the heat in a red-hot halter top gown with a plunging neckline that gathered in an elegant twist.

Luckily for Barroso, red happens to be the season’s hottest hue, having cropped up often in fall-winter 2023 collections from the likes of Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Prada, and Zadig & Voltaire. The trend marks a big departure from the “quiet luxury” color palette, which favors muted and neutral shades. Fans may recall Barroso also wore a bright red gown to the World’s Most Fascinating Dinner at New York City’s Hall des Lumieres earlier this month, even donning lipstick and strappy heels in a matching color for the occasion.

Luciana Barroso and Matt Damon weren’t the only stars in attendance at George and Amal Clooney’s annual gala on Thursday night. Held by the Clooney Foundation For Justice at the New York Public Library, the ceremony—which honors “courageous defenders of justice who are at great risk for what they do”—attracted plenty of other Hollywood heavyweights, including Anne Hathaway, Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber, Daniel Craig and wife Rachel Weisz, and supermodel Kate Moss.
