King Charles Has “No Time” to See Prince Harry on Sept. Trip to UK

Prince Harry is heading to England this week for the WellChild Awards, and apparently will not be meeting up with his father, King Charles, or his brother, Prince William. And according to a palace insider who spoke to the Daily Mail, this is because King Charles has “no time in the diary” to see Prince Harry. Which…uh…k.

Meanwhile, insiders previously told the Mirror that Prince Harry (who will be traveling to England solo) has “no intention” of seeing King Charles or Prince William, with a source saying that his relationship with the royals remains “firmly rooted at rock bottom” and that “while some may suggest it would be good order for the family to settle their differences, perhaps even in the late Queen’s memory, things are a long way off.”

To make matters more awkward, the Telegraph reports that “for the first time since moving abroad, Harry will be forced to ask permission from Buckingham Palace for accommodation,” due to being evicted from his and Meghan Markle’s previous home, Frogmore Cottage.

Per the Telegraph, Harry “must request access to an apartment on one of the royal estates” or stay at a hotel or with friends. It’s possible Prince Harry could stay with—or at the very least end up visiting—his cousins, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie on the trip, who he has remained close to despite drama with King Charles, Prince William, and Kate Middleton.

And speaking of Kate, royal author Robert Jobson recently told The Express that “I think the only person that is helping the situation is Catherine, who is doing a brilliant job. First of all when the king wants to see his grandchildren, for example, it’s important to say that a lot of it has been through Catherine. But William and Harry, it’s a difficult one. I think as brothers they are more likely to get on the phone and have a conversation.”
