Coco Gauff Won the US Open at 19 Years Old and Celebrity Spectators Reacted Accordingly

Coco Gauff just won her first Grand Slam, defeating Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in the US Open women’s final on September 9.

At just 19 years old, Gauff is officially the youngest player to even reach the US Open Final since Serena Williams won her first Grand Slam at 17 years old in 1999. “[Serena and Venus Williams] are the reason why I have this trophy,” Gauff said during a press conference after the match. “They allowed me to believe in this dream.”

Immediately following her victory, Gauff collapsed on the court in happy tears to roaring applause from the crowd. Obviously, when an American wins at the US Open, the crowd is going to go wild, but perhaps no spectators were as enthused as Gauff’s own mother, Candi Gauff, and…Amanda Seyfried?

In one TikTok video shared by the official US Open account, Seyfried—along with Cara Delevigne, Rachel Brosnahan, and Mindy Kaling—can be seen watching the match with rapt attention and shouting praise at Gauff. “You got it,” Seyfried seems to say with her hands in the air before adding, “Oh shit!”

Now that is how you watch tennis. Of course, the rest of the onlookers in the video were impressed as well, and Delevigne could be seen battling tears. “Stars watching stars,” read the post’s caption. The photos kind of say it all…
